The Connection Circuit
Ages 5–13

The Connection Circuit

Communication & Collaborative Performance

At these ages, the social circuit becomes everything. Offered in age appropriate groups, our junior and middle-years programmes offer both performance play and the skills of effective communication. Students dive into improvisation, character building, and vocal projection. We focus on how to read a room, listen actively, and contribute ideas with clarity.

Benefit: Strengthening communication skills that translate directly to classroom presentations, playground collaboration and confidence in the community.

The Launchpad
Ages 13–18

The Launchpad

Presence, Influence & Performance

For our teens, DramaHub becomes a launchpad for the real world. We cover acting techniques, screen work, and public speaking. We treat our teens as creative collaborators, helping them refine their authentic voice and presence.

Benefit: Developing the confidence and communication tools needed for future interviews, auditions, collaboration, performance and public speaking.

Scene Lab
Ages 17+

Scene Lab

Craft & Authentic Connection

For young adults ready to hone their craft. Scene Lab is a workout for the dedicated actor or communicator to build a robust, professional toolkit. We dive into text analysis, mastering monologues, dynamic duologues, and intricate small group scenes. This is the engine room where you can refine your voice, learn to hold the silence, and connect authentically with your scene partners.

Benefit: Build the communication skills, confidence, deep connections, and creative network you need to thrive under pressure.

What People Are Saying

I was lucky enough to be directed by Fiona in a play that had some sensitive content. Not only was she an assured and thoughtful director, guiding everyone into strong performances, she did it in a way that was empathetic, safe and fun. It was an absolute pleasure.

I have known Fiona for over 20 years and in that time I have found her to be dynamic, intelligent and powerful both professionally and as a friend. Fiona also starred in the premier production of my play Seed at The Basement in Auckland in 2014 and her performance was faultless. She brought incredible energy, enthusiasm and grace to the project, so when she asked if she might direct a production of that same play at Titirangi Theatre this year I had no hesitation in saying yes and the end result was simply wonderful. Fiona is a highly talented actor, director and teacher and I'm honoured that she has chosen to support my work in so many ways over the years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our programmes are designed for school-aged children and teens from 8 to 18 years old. The Connection Circuit is for ages 8–13, The Launchpad is for teens aged 13–18, and the Improv Network welcomes ages 11–18. Our holiday programmes are for ages 8–13.

Not at all! Our classes are designed for all experience levels. Whether your child has never been on a stage or has been performing for years, we meet them where they are. Many of our students start with no prior drama experience and quickly find their confidence.

Each 45-minute group session is a mix of warm-ups, improvisation exercises, scene work, vocal projection, and collaborative performance activities. Classes are active and engaging — there’s no sitting at desks. Every session builds on the last, so students develop their skills progressively through the term. During individual or pair lessons the content flow is similar with even more attention paid to individual needs and skill development.

All classes take place at Ponsonby Intermediate in Ponsonby, Auckland. Saturday sessions run in the morning and afternoon, with different age groups scheduled throughout the day. We’re easily accessible from Point Chevalier, Grey Lynn, Avondale, Freemans Bay, Herne Bay, Westmere, North Shore and the wider Auckland central area.

We keep our groups small — a maximum of 10 children per group class. This means every child gets individual attention and plenty of time to participate. Small groups also help children feel safe and supported as they build confidence. We also offer 1-1 or pair based lessons scheduled as needed.

A standard term of 8 weekly group lessons is $280+gst per term. Private one-on-one coaching is available at $95+gst per hour (or $50 for 30 minutes) for audition preparation, public speaking, speech clarity, and specialised skill building.

You can enrol online through our website. Visit our enrolment page and choose either Term Programme or Holiday Programme. Fill in the form and we’ll be in touch to confirm your child’s place.

Some of our most confident performers started out as the quietest children in the room! Drama is one of the best activities for shy children because it gives them a safe, supportive environment to find their voice at their own pace. Small class sizes (max 10) mean there’s no pressure, and improvisation games are a natural way to break the ice without putting anyone on the spot.

Comfortable clothes they can move in — think mufti day rather than formal wear. No special equipment is needed. We provide all materials and props. A water bottle is a good idea. For the longer holiday programme days, a water bottle and a packed lunch and snacks is required.

We welcome parents to get in touch to arrange a trial session so your child can experience a class before committing to a full term. You are welcome to sit in alongside your child to watch. Contact Fiona at [email protected] or 021 583 049 to arrange this.

Term programmes run weekly on Saturdays during the school term (8 sessions per term) and focus on progressive skill development in speech, drama, and performance. The holiday programme is a shorter, standalone experience during school holidays — it’s a fun mix of performing arts, group activities, and creative projects. The holiday programme is a great way to try DramaHub before committing to a full term.

All classes are taught by Fiona Mogridge, who holds advanced Trinity College London qualifications in Speech and Drama (LTCL and ATCL) as well as a Master of International Business. Fiona trained in France and has worked professionally in TV, film, and theatre — acting, producing, and directing. She has taught speech and drama in schools across Auckland. She is police vetted and working for children. Where we have multiple class groups or someone falls sick, we will have other tutors. We will endeavour to introduce them to parents and enrolled attendees ahead of time.
